AS 42541.1/AS 4254.2 Ductwork Testing to Australian Standards

The Australian National Construction Code contains the deemed to satisfy requirements for fire in Volume 1 Specification C1.10. This requires flexible and rigid ducting to be complying with AS 4254. AS 4254 ductwork for air-handling systems in buildings has two parts:

1. AS 4254.1 - Flexible Ducting

AS 4254.1:2021 Ductwork for air-handling systems in buildings, Part 1: Flexible duct

2. AS 4254.2 - Rigid Ducting

AS 4254.2:2012 Ductwork for air-handling systems in buildings, Part 2: Rigid duct.

Amongst other physical tests, ducting used for air handling systems must comply with the requirements of two flammability tests.

AWTA Product Testing - Capabilities AWTA Product Testing has many years of experience in testing to both AS/NZS 1530.3 and UL 181, both of which are required by AS 4254.1-2012 and AS 4254.2-2012. AWTA Product Testing is NATA accredited for both of these tests.

Additionally, we can carry out the mechanical performance tests in AS 4254.1, for which we are NATA accredited.
